Photo Gallery #53- Another Bongor
Visit, and Landscapes, Part I

On my way up to N'Djamena and Darda to work at Pre-Service Training, I stopped in Bongor for a couple nights, where I stayed with Josh. One of his afternoon rituals is a walk on the banks of the Logone River, and while I was there, I went along.

Josh with Halala Joseph, one of the little boys who always seems to find Josh when he's out walking.

Because Bongor was a big base for the French during the colonial days, ruins like this are scattered all along the riverbank.
This must've been a mansion, or something.

Random pieces of infrastructure, like ancient water towers, pop out of the strangest places.

While we were walking, we met this man fishing, who insisted we take his picture.
As well as this kid, who was simply trying to look weird, I think.
I'm not sure, but I guess it was a pretty special rock.
'The Face of Africa,' as Josh said.
'Not exactly the face of Africa,' as Nathaniel says.
The forest on the banks of the river.
At the water's edge.

Almost sunset.
