This ended up being a massive storm that arrived just before sunset- the clouds started rolling in before the sun had actually gone down though, making a cool eclipse-like effect.

The storms would often gather in the east, gradually making their way towards us...

Growing larger,
And more ominous.
This one actually missed us in the end, veering off just before the wind was about to pick up.
A typical rainy-season Chadian view.

Sunset, as the storm dissipated.
One of the biggest rains we had began on a calm day...
Gradually, the clouds increased.
The sky darkened.
Before long, the sun was completely gone.
And at 2:00 PM, it looked like evening...
Just moments before the deluge began.
Later that night, after a massive rain, it dissispated enough to see the full moon, barely.
