Dakassia, who's obviously bothered by something...

Agathe, Marc's neice, who came to live with us while she was in sixieme at the middle school in town, holding Dakassia. Unfortunately, I don't know her friend's name.

Agathe, holding Dakassia, and Dounplata's youngest son.

Valaddi and Agathe.
Ayra, another one of Dounplata's daughters, making one of what must be 20 daily trips to the pump to haul water.
A view of the assembled crowd and pastors at the EFLT (Eglise Fraternelle Lutherien du Tchad) graduation ceremony in May, when 30 new pastors were ordained after finishing a four-year course.
Marc and I were both seated with the honored guests- he's the official chef du quartier, and I was representing Peace Corps, I suppose.
The pastor's wives, who each had special complètes made for the ceremony.
Amos, kicking back in my hangar.
My landlord's yougest children, whose names I can't remember, but who are about five and seven.
