Welcome
to NathanielTishman.com! (Updated 11/06)

This site has been meant as a showcase
for my life as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic
of Chad, teaching English in Sub-Saharan Africa from
2004-2006. It's also been a chance for me to highlight some
of the writings I've done as a freelance
journalist, and to display some of my favorite photos
from my travels.
My Peace Corps service came to an abrupt halt with the evacuation and closure of the Chad program in April 2006, but the experiences I had, the people I met, and the lessons I learned I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. I'm working on a book chronicling my experience as a Volunteer, and as it gets closer to completion, this site will evolve to reflect that. For now though, I invite you to explore, and hopefully get some sense of what Peace Corps life has been like for me.
